Carroll thinking of retiring?

First I've heard of this. I kinda wondered since the team may slip down the hierarchy of elite teams for a bit during the rebuild. I mean, I don't know if Super Bowl is in the cards if this offseason is as roster churning as some people think.
So if Pete retires, the next in line is Tom Cable since he's the Offensive Line Coach/Assisstant Head Coach. (Right?) I would love to keep this Pete Carroll system but I don't know if I'd be overjoyed with any coach on the team taking over as head coach.
I can't see Carroll slowing down. If he did, I have a hard time thinking about a suitable replacement.
@Veda-the-Moor hates the idea, but I would throw out Jim Harbaugh for 3 years (no more) and see where he can get us before all the bridges get burned down.

I believe PC comes back next year. But if he doesn't, my guess would be Richard as his replacement....although Paul Allen does like to go with 'name' coaches. Harbaugh? LOL!
Oh man, I hope you're wrong about Richard! I get the feeling that the players don't respect him and they tune him out. I have no facts, but there is something about the way the players talk, or more importantly Don't talk about Richard.

People talking about retirement... I ain’t old enough to think about retiring!
Good to see Carroll get out in front of it.

I think this might have been a good year for Carroll to retire. I have had the sense since last year his age is finally catching up to him. But I'd rather him than anyone else we have.
Harbaugh is an effective coach that comes with a time limit, and I worry about his effect on people long term. Coaches don't just teach football.
I don't want Richard or Cable back with the team much less being promoted.
Boo to the idea of Carroll retiring!
But, Cable and Richard can please feel free to find better positions.
Probably just the "Rooney Rule" but ....
"The Indianapolis Colts have reportedly requested to interview Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Kris Richard for the vacant head coach position."
Richards got a HC interview with Buffalo last year.
I would peg him as more likely to get a HC job over Bevell or Cable.
